Spotted Moon Crab

Unlike swimming crabs, where only the back legs are flattened into a paddle-like shape, all the walking legs of the spotted moon crab are flattened! These paddle-like legs enable the spotted moon crab to swim away quickly or burrow itself into the sand in a blink of an eye! With both its flattened legs and spotted appearance, the spotted moon crab can rapidly dig into and camouflage perfectly with the sandy beach. This helps it to conceal itself from predators or sneak up on unsuspecting prey.
