Eight-Armed Luidia Sea Star

Unlike typical sea stars, the eight-armed Luidia sea star has 8 arms instead of 5! This merciless sea star is a voracious predator, eating anything that dares to stand in its way. This includes molluscs, crustaceans, sea urchins, and even other sea stars!

Although the eight-armed Luidia sea star used to be common on our mainland shores, it is unfortunately now considered locally endangered.
