Cake Sea Star

The cake sea star has short, stout arms and the upperside of its body is slightly convex. This makes the cake sea star look like a cute star-shaped cake! Just like how birthday cakes can be very colourful, cake sea stars also display a diverse range of beautiful colours such as black, brown, red, and even orange! However, little is known about them in our region, and their local conservation status is listed as “Vulnerable”.
