Razor Clam

Like a razor blade, razor clams are long, thin and narrow. The razor clam uses its powerful foot to dig into the sand and anchor itself down onto the shore. Meanwhile, it keeps its elongated siphon above ground like a breathing tube to suck in and expel seawater out of its body. Not only does this help the razor clam to breathe while partially buried underground, it also enables the razor clam to filter feed on the plankton and tiny food particles suspended in the seawater!
