Pink Sand Dollar

With its bright pink body, the pink sand dollar is definitely one of the stars of Singapore’s northern shores!

This pretty sand dollar has a beautiful flower-shaped pattern on its upperside, which is known as a petaloid. The “petals” are actually holes through which tube feet emerge, and these tube feet help the pink sand dollar to breathe! Unfortunately, this beautiful sand dollar is currently listed as “Near-Threatened” in Singapore.
