Mangrove Jellyfish

As its name suggests, the mangrove jellyfish is most commonly found in mangroves, although it can sometimes also be found in seagrass meadows. This iconic sea jelly is best known for its relatively small bell-shaped head, as well as its adorably fat arms!

Like in all jellyfishes, the arms and tentacles of the mangrove jellyfish are laden with venom, which it uses to capture prey and ward off predators. Although there are no records of mangrove jellyfishes stinging humans, it is best not to touch or handle mangrove jellyfishes, even if they appear to be dead!
