King Cobra

When threatened, the King Cobra raises the front of its body and expands the skin on its neck into a hood, making itself appear larger and more intimidating. It can also produce a deep growling hiss, a warning display that is unique among snakes.

Despite its name, the King Cobra is not a true cobra. It earned its name from its habit of hunting and eating other snakes, including venomous species such as kraits and smaller cobras.
